Our story begins at the beautiful Grand Hotel on Michigan's Mackinac Island. We met while performing at the Grand Hotel in the summer of 2001. Kelly was performing as part of the classical duo in the parlor, and Darryl was performing with the Terrace Room and Dining Room Bands.
As we built a life together, we began to explore the possibilities of performing together - blending our different musical backgrounds into a sound that was unique to us. We formed the Kelly & Darryl Violin and Piano Duo.
We perform concerts around Michigan, sharing classical pieces as well as popular standards that Darryl has arranged for violin and piano. We love to highlight works by composers who may be new to our audiences - works by women composers, African-American composers, and composers from the present day.
